Below, you'll find a general idea of our creative process for websites. You can find our logo process here for our logo process. Business cards and other printed materials will follow a similar process to the logos.
Our Website Creation Process
Initial Consultation and Planning:
- Gather client requirements, goals, and preferences.
- Determine the website's purpose, target audience and desired features.
- Discuss design aesthetics, branding, and color schemes.
- What we need from you: 3 or more examples of websites you really like with some bullet points of what specifically you like about them along with 3 or more examples of websites that you dislike and why you don't like them. Some examples of reasons could be colors, layout, hover effects, images, fonts, etc.
Project Proposal and Agreement:
- We will provide a detailed project proposal outlining the scope, timeline and costs.
- What we need from you: Once you sign the agreement, we require a 50% deposit to begin your work.
Content Gathering and Researching:
- We’re ready to get started! We’re starting to look at examples and styles we think would help you achieve your goal.
- What we need from you: You’ll need to send us any necessary text, images, videos and other content you want on your site. We ask that this is all sent to us at once to keep the project organized. Don’t have your own photography or images? No problem! We can use stock photos.
Design and Mockup (2 rounds of revisions):
- Now that we have your materials, we can begin designing your mockup. The mockup will show you the layout, typography, colors and graphics our designer has chosen to use on your site. The mockup will be a flat webp/image showing you what your website is going to look like on a desktop computer.
- What we need from you: Your honest opinion! You will have 2 rounds of revisions to make tweaks to the design.
Development (1 round of revisions):
- Now that you’re happy with the look of the site, we will begin coding it out! We will do this on our servers so that your current site will remain running undisturbed (if applicable). We will then provide you with a link to view the new creation. You will be able to see how it looks on a desktop computer, your tablet and your cellphone.
- What we need from you: Since you have already seen and fallen in love with the look of the site from the mockup phase, we can’t imagine that there will be too many changes with the live site. However, if something needs a little more adjusting, let us know. We want your site to be perfect!
Website Launch:
- Love your site? Perfect! We will now upload the website to the live server and ensure all functionality works as intended. We will be sure to test again after deployment to catch any post-launch issues.
- What we need from you: Explore every nook and cranny of your website to ensure it meets, or hopefully exceeds, your expectations.
Post-Launch Maintenance (optional):
- There’s a good chance that at some point you’ll want updates to your site, whether that be image changes, pages added or pricing updates. Come back to us when it is time for a change and we are happy to keep your site current.
- Due to the need for frequent updates in the current digital landscape, we offer website maintence packages at different price points based on your needs.
